CUMMINS B Gas Plus

Cummins Westport B Gas Plus is to be introduced in North American and European markets in October 2002. The 5.9 litre B Gas Plus will be available up to 230 hp. It replaces the B5.9G engine, which is currently offered in trucks and buses of more than 30 manufacturers.


Features and Benefits:

  • With models from 195 hp to 230 hp, the B Gas Plus will be targeted at urban bus and truck fleets around the world.

  • Features lean burn spark-ignited technology, a new fully electonic engine control, and new drive-by-wire throttle.

  • New array of advanced sensors and electronic control ensure outstanding, consistent engine performance and economy over a wide range of operating conditions and usage patterns.

  • Capable of operating on a wider range of fuel qualities, down to Methane Number 65.

  • Advanced electronics also enable extensive engine system diagnostics using Cummins Insite™ and QuickCheck™ tools.

  • In addition to low emissions, the B Gas Plus is also much quieter than diesel, an important benefit when operating in urban areas.
